An association that
supports a Palestinian family of which three of their children were killed in the Israeli raid on Gaza in 2014, the family filed a complaint on charges of
"complicity in war crimes" and "murder" against a French
company that makes electronic components used for military purposes.
The association “Action by Christians for the Abolition of Torture”
said in a statement talked in detail about this initiative that the intended company of this complaint is "Exxelia Technologies. "
The association "FIACAT" supports Shuhaiber family which lost their three children, who were eighth, ninth and tenth-old were killed on July 17, 2014 when a rocket landed
on the roof of their house in Gaza where the children were feeding their birds.
Among the wreckage of the
rocket, a small electronic piece was found written on it "Eurofarad-Paris-France",
as the Association have stated. In the recent period “Eurofarad France” company
which is appended to the "Exxelia group" has its name changed to “Exxelia Technologies”.
Finding this small piece,
says the association and its lawyers, enables this matter to be taken to the
French judiciary.
According to the
Palestinian family and their supporters the attack which targeted their house
during the Israeli raid operation on Gaza “Defensive Shied” is a "War
Crime" because “it did not aim for any military objective."
"Action by Christians
for the Abolition of Torture" Association committee elaborated that it
intends, in addition to the complaint, to denounce the "blatant condoning to
the punishment of war crimes committed in Gaza," and also launch an appeal
to hold the "Military industry accountable."
In a statement to AFP, the
lawyer Joseph Breham who advises the Palestinian family said, "If a
complaint filed in Israel, it will not lead to a result. We found a legal way
to get around the obstruction."
The filers of the complaint
want to know if Exxelia Technologies components which can be used also for civilian
purposes sold directly and knowingly to an Israeli weapons factory? And when
was that?
According to the complaint
that starting in 2009 it informed the public opinion about the war crimes,
which the Israeli forces have been suspected in.
