Chinese hackers have managed to steal data related to the Iron Dome system from computers of Israeli defense technology companies, and that data related to "Arrow 3" missiles, automated air vehicles, ballistic missiles, and other technical documents in the same areas of study.
A report - published by the American "National
Interest" website - asked what would China do with the data it got about
the Israeli missile defense system known as the Iron Dome?
Brian Krebs, a writer on cybersecurity, was quoted saying that
Cyber Engineering Services, Maryland, monitored this cyber-burglary.
He noted that the robbery occurred between October 10, 2011 and
August 13, 2012, and he said that the computers of three of the largest defense
technology companies in Israel had been hacked.
The perpetrators of the attack are believed to be from the
"Comments Group", a group of pirates funded by the Chinese army. In
addition, Mandiant Cyber Security Company of Virginia has found that this
group operates under the leadership of the second office of the General Staff
Department of the People's Liberation Army, the third department, known as a
unit "61398".
The report stated that this unit is waging a fierce campaign to
steal American secrets until the Ministry of Justice convicted four alleged
members last May.
